After a 27 year career in the Service Station/Automotive Service industry, Captain Denny moved to SW Florida with his wife Dene', who both had been frequent visitors since the late 1970's, and in 1998 he pursued his life long interest in boating.

Born in Michigan, he had been a boater beginning in Lake St. Clair with his dad, uncle and grandfather from the early 50's and continuing over the years boating throughout the Great Lakes, as well as inland lakes in Michigan, Connecticut, Tennessee, Texas, New York, Missouri, Indiana, Georgia, Washington, and finally arriving in Florida forty plus years later. From there his love for the open water and boating became a second career. 

Denny began his boating career in Florida at Fish Tale Sales and Service on Ft. Myers Beach and quickly became one of their leading sales producers. He also obtained his yacht sales license, with Yacht Broker's License to follow and shortly after, along with Tony Swift, delivery specialist, attended The Captain's School were they both earned their 50 Ton Master Captain's License. Tony became the Delivery Captain at Fishtale.

After spending six years at Fishtale, his desire to return to management was fulfilled by accepting a position with Walker's Yacht Sales in Ft. Myers, where he began in a sales position, was soon promoted to Sales Manager and finally, General Manager. 

During his years selling and servicing new boats, he has direct contact and associations with manufacturers such as Grady White Boats, Chaparral Boats, Stamas Yachts, Marlago Yachts, Key West Boats, Thunderbird Formula, Pursuit, S2 Yachts, Monterey Boats, Triton Boats, Bennington Marine, Starcraft Marine, Harris Kayot, Euroline, Wellcraft Boats, Mainship Trawlers, Mercury Marine, Mercury Outboards, Mercruiser, Cummins, Volvo Penta and Yamaha. He also has held State of Florida Sales and Brokerage licenses since 2002 and has offered and sold brands like Sea Ray, Regal, Boston Whaler, Regulator, Cobalt, Tiara, Pro Line, Maxum, Larson, Baja, Fountain, Century and others. 

From there, Captain Denny, feeling the magnetism of his entrepreneurial spirit, left Walker's to become an independent broker, Gulf Coast Boat Sales, located in Bonita Springs, FL with office in Naples and Ft.Myers. In the fall of 2010, Denny became a Retail Sales Agent for Thunderbird Products, manufacturers of Formula Power Boats. Along with his Retail Sales Consultant, Scott Kern has been representing Formula Boats in open territories through the southern US and South America.

About Scott

Having grown up in a family that was bonded through boating, Scott Kern developed a passion for the water and boating at a very early age.   That passion led Scott to attend college in Hawaii where Scott searched for the right field of study to keep him on the water.   Ultimately, it was when Scott moved back to Indiana to study at Indiana University where boating became a career.   While still in college at IU, Scott turned a summer job at a local marina into a business when he formed Yacht Concierge Services, LLC.   

In 2007, Scott made the decision to transition into a sales role by moving to Wisconsin and joining a well-respected dealer who happened to represent Formula, among other brands.  It was through this company and experience that Scott developed a newfound respect and excitement for the Formula product.   In 2010, Formula Boats saw the opportuntiy to develop a new hybrid sales model and Scott was given the responsibility of becoming the Retail Rep for the South US and growing the Formula brand and client base.

Since 2010, Scott has been able to work with valued industry partners and colleagues to effectively grow the Formula brand and serve clients with integrity, passion and boating knowledge.   As much as Scott loves boating and the Formula brand, it is the relationships with clients that brings him the greatest sense of fulfillment.   You can find Scott, when not working, out on the water with his family, as his passion for boating is now shared by his wife Anja, and two sons, Brayden and William.

Steve is originally from the Midwest, born in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up along the shores of Lake Michigan in Southwest Michigan. Steve has been an avid boater his entire life. He earned a B.S. in Business from Ferris State University. Steve has been living the dream in Southwest Florida for 25 years.  He is experienced in sales and brokerage. Steve is a member of The Florida Yacht Broker Association, FYBA.  He is also a Florida Licensed Yacht Broker.  He has the experience to help you find the right Luxury Yacht for your cruising or fishing needs to enjoy the Florida boating lifestyle.
Steve and his wife, Angie, have 4 wonderful kids and he is very active in the community.  Steve is an avid boater and golfer. He also coaches his daughter’s in soccer and coached his son in Little League baseball.

About Danny

When I was 7 seven years old, my dad bought his first boat, I knew from that moment on I wanted to make a living on the water. That core foundation of years on the water, whether it was fishing, diving, or navigating the seas, gave me the knowledge and experience you can only gain by being out on the water. As I got older that led me to the Marine Mechanics Institute, which gave my career a very strong technical background in Marine Mechanics. After 11 years of working in the marine industry at every possible service-related position, for a plethora of different companies, I decided I had what it takes to own and operate a mobile marine service 4 years ago. In 2019 I obtained my USCG Master 100 Ton Captains License to give myself more opportunities for work. While things have worked out well as a mechanic and captain there was something else missing, which led me to expand into boat sales.

2022. I interviewed at a few different brokerages to see where I would best fit and would be able to utilize all the skills under my belt. Once I sat down with Formula Boats South / Yacht Brokers South, I knew that this was the place and company I wanted to represent. When you mix a high-quality product with exceptional service the results will speak for themselves. My whole life has led me to this point, where I am able to use my skill set daily and assist in helping my customers create their own great boating experiences & memories. I can help with selecting the correct boat for your needs and answer questions regarding power & electronics, plus systems use. Knowing what boating has brought to my life I want the same for all my customers, because there is no price tag on memories.
